Giedrė Žickytė

GIEDRĖ ŽICKYTĖ (born 1980) is a Lithuanian documentary film director and producer. She graduated with MA in Visual Arts at Vilnius Art Academy in 2007. Her award-winning films have been selected at numerous international film festivals including IDFA, DokLeipzig, Hot Docs, Vision du Reel (The Sesterce d’or Fondation Goblet Award), Sheffield Doc/ Fest (Short Doc Award), Rotterdam IFF, Camerimage (Golden Frog prize), DocumentaMadrid (Audience Award); Krakow IFF (EFA Award) and many others, have been broadcast and theatrical distributed. Her latest short documentary “I’M NOT FROM HERE” (co-directed with M.Alberdi, Chile) won a nomination at the European Film Academy Awards in 2016 and her feature documentary “MASTER AND TATYANA” was awarded for the Best Director, Best Documentary, Best Cinematography and Best Editing at the Lithuanian Film Academy Awards “Silver Crane” in 2015, and selected as one of `’10 Documentary Film Talents of the year” by acknowledged international film critic Tue Steen Muller. Giedre was awarded with “Silver Crane” awards also in 2009 and 2017 years. She was awarded a St. Christopher’s statue by Lithuanian capital Vilnius city council for merits in cinema artwork in 2016 and nominated at Lithuanian Global Leaders Awards, 2016. Giedre is a member of European Film Academy, European Documentary Network, Lithuanian Film Academy, Lithuanian Filmmakers Union, alumni of Berlinale Talent Campus, Sources2, CPH:DOX LAB and EURODOC.
