At a massive resort on the Turkish Riviera, Ismail, 18, and Hakan, 25, begin summer jobs—one in the kitchen, the other as a lifeguard. Both hope to earn money, learn English, and build a better future. Initially shy, they quietly observe the hotel’s strange world of excess and Western tourists. Over two summers, their friendship deepens, but their paths diverge. Ismail becomes increasingly curious about the Western world, while Hakan struggles to suppress his identity in a system that demands silence.
