Hollywoodgate

.

Unprecedented and audacious, HOLLYWOODGATE is the riveting result of director Ibrahim Nash’at’s year with the Taliban after the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. Risking his life, Nash’at follows them as they seize an American base filled with part of the $7 billion in U.S. arms left behind. On the ground with Taliban leaders, he witnesses their efforts to reinvent themselves from a fundamentalist militia into a modern military regime, using Hollywood-style propaganda to consolidate power. Driving toward a chilling conclusion, the film captures the dangerous transformation of one of the world’s most feared groups.
