Ininnawa: An Island Calling explores the challenges of delivering healthcare in Indonesia’s remote island communities. Mimi, a young mother and nurse, serves patients more than 30 hours by sea from South Sulawesi, often separated from her children and husband Hasri, who also works on nearby islands. As her mother Rabiah, a veteran nurse, begins retirement, she finds herself drawn back to the islands to support Mimi, just as Mimi gives birth to her third child. Family reunions are rare, but duty calls. This is a story of sacrifice, resilience, and intergenerational commitment to care.
