An ideal sports career: Olympic champion, two-time world champion, and three-time Russian and European ice dancing champion. But a sudden illness nearly cost Roman Kostomarov his life. He fell into a coma, underwent multiple surgeries, and had his limbs amputated. His chances of recovery were less than one percent. Yet he survived.
