The Man Who Saved the World

The film tells the story of Lt. Colonel Stanislav E. Petrov of the Soviet Army, who held the fate of the world in his hands for a few crucial minutes. When an alarm indicated five American nuclear missiles had been launched, he trusted his gut and convinced the armed forces it was a false alarm, preventing a nuclear war. Two decades later, he journeys to the United States, where he is acknowledged for his heroic act and meets his former enemies. “The Man Who Saved the World” focuses on Petrov’s extraordinary decision that prevented planetary destruction, highlighting his courage and the monumental weight of his choice.

When was the last time you watched a film that was truly important? And not just in a “Everyone should see this,” kind of way, but a film that made you see the world completely differently. A film that you believe really should be watched by everyone alive. THE MAN WHO SAVED THE WORLD may very well be one of cinema’s greatest achievements, working as both a cautionary tale, intense thriller, and joyous celebration of true humanity.
